It's awful to see so much devastation from these wildfires, but honestly, this is a perfect example of why big, centralized governments often fail to manage resources and prepare for disasters efficiently. If local communities and private landowners had more control and incentives, they’d probably invest more in fire prevention and rapid response instead of waiting for bureaucratic help. Relying on the EU for aid just creates more dependency and delays. People need the freedom to take responsibility for their own land and safety, not more government intervention.

Maybe if Greece didn’t have to wait for the EU’s approval and slow bureaucracy, they could respond to these disasters faster and more effectively on their own.

It’s awful to see these wildfires devastate Greece, but it really shows why strong borders and national emergency plans matter instead of always depending on the EU for help. Climate or not, each country should prioritize its own resources and readiness to protect its people first.
This is yet another tragic reminder of how urgent it is to take real action on climate change and invest in sustainable solutions—not just for Greece, but for the whole planet.
